Team Captain - Troitsky Bridge Building Engineering & Design Club

Led a team of 6 to design, analyze, and construct a wooden bridge out of popsicle sticks, dental floss, and craft glue to be tested with a point load with a hydrualic press at Concordia University. I personally tested various types of floss to determine which would deform the least amount and be able to withstand the most. I also determined the best knots to use, which was a variation of a slip knot that I made and tested, and if braiding made any structural improvements to the overall strength of the floss.

The previous record that Carleton University had made was 950kg in 2024, and the bridge that I designed and made was able to withstand 1850kg, which placed fourth overall for most load supported.
